Meant To Be Broken

Meant to Be Broken, a dark comedy that tells the story of an every-man seeking adventure before an illness claims his life prematurely, will feature a road trip along the eastern coast of the US and will be a rather novel endeavor; unlike traditional independent films, this project will have a crew of hundreds of volunteers, coordinated by 48 Hour Film project, spread out along the east coast and shooting will take place in every major city from New York to Miami.

Harvey has led a cautious and conscientious life until he gets fired and finds out he has one month to live. Throwing caution to the wind, he finally steps into the bar he passes every day on the way to work. There he meets Luke and confesses he's never broken any rules. Luke responds "Do you want to?," and so the quest begins. Along the way they accidentally kidnap a woman who joins them on their adventure, but she might prove to be more trouble than they are looking for. "Meant to be Broken" is a crazy journey of law breaking and discovery that culminates in Miami where competing forces catch up to the unlikely trio. Mark Rupert heads the international organization that runs the 48 Hour Film Project, coordinating more than 110 producers around the world. Mark's producing experience includes films, theater and special events. He has emceed award shows, international forums and his own talk/variety show.

Dave Coyne as Harvey

Born across the pond and shuffled around the states. First auditioned for a show at the age of 17. Fell into a gaggle of stage productions to hone the craft. Appeared on IFC, Discovery Network, PBS and The Monte Carlo Stage with Frank Caliendo. Enjoyed a fun Youtube run with celebrity impressions including Christopher Walken's mom. Landed a 2 year deal with Turner broadcast creating whimsical videos. A number of other things including supporting roles in "Elf-Man" and "VHS2"

Nick Depinto as Luke

Nick DePinto is known mostly for his stage work and his facility with a wide range of vivid characters across many periods & styles. He is also a musician, songwriter & visual artist. He is currently based in Washington DC. Nick went to Wittenberg University where he studied Theatre, Education & Art and to Wayne State University where he studied Classical Acting. He has performed on two continents in three separate nations and toured the USA extensively earning a Wilde Award for his portrayal of Abe Steinman in The Kentucky Cycle. His ability to create characters of specific identity and memorable impact has kept him consistently in his peers' affections and fed him steady work as an Actor for stage, screen & voice over work. When not working Nick likes to write songs, play music with his bands, paint, take photographs & read.

Nadia Mohebban as Shifty

Introducing Nadia Mohebban as Shifty.
Nadia attended the University of Maryland, graduating with a B.A. in Theater Performance where she received a four-year Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) Full Scholarship for acting. Upon graduating she started her own feminist theater group “Pussy Rep” where she devised her own show That Kind Of Girl that premiered at The Fringe Festival. Her regional thea...ter credit includes Adventure Theater, Discover Theater, Faction of Fools, and Source Festival. Six months after graduating, she decided to move out to Los Angeles where she currently resides, to pursue T.V. and Film. She is known for her roles in That Big Day, and The Ex-Factor and her reoccurring work for Buzzfeed.

Jonathan Zuck- Director

An award winning photographer, filmmaker and digital artist, Jonathan’s work has appeared in local and national ad campaigns, festivals, exhibitions and in homes and businesses around the world. Jonathan’s editorial work, has appeared in multiple publications including the Washington Post, Washington City Paper, On Tap and several websites.

Jonathan’s hero is Orson Welles because of his creativity and originality across mediums. A filmmaker at heart, Jonathan’s work is most inspired by artists such as Welles, Stanley Kubrick, Gregory Crewdson, Julie Blackmon and the Symbolists of the late 19th Century.

Chad Horn- Producer

Chad Horn is the founder of Bard Tales Productions in Falls Church, VA. A thirteen-year veteran producer and editor, once Chad saw his first 360° video he was hooked. Just 18 months later he and his team are creating 360°/VR content for the biggest networks and brands including Discovery Communications, Sports Illustrated, USA Today, Smithsonian Networks, and many more.

Mark Ruppert- Associate Producer

Mark came up with the idea for the 48 Hour Film Project back in 2001. As a filmmaker in his own right, Mark's belief in the power of creativity led him to challenge filmmakers to see what they can do in a single weekend.

The results have been phenomenal as the 48 Hour Film Project has found a place in 130 cities around the world--with more than 325,000 people having participated to date, creating more than 25,000 films.

Kevin Good- Director of Photography

Kevin Good is a freelance cinematographer and director. He has worked on diverse projects from creating television pilots for Fox Television Studios to shooting interactive feature-length films for the U.S. Army. His work has been featured in the Independent TV Festival in Los Angeles, the New York Television Festival, the Cannes Film Festival, the Edinburgh International TV Festival, the Festival Internacional de Televisão in Rio de Janeiro, the Boston International Film Festival, and others. Kevin now balances his time between teaching at Boston University’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts, freelance production work, and developing his own crazy projects, many of which are featured on this site.
